Chlorine Dilution Calculator

Santé publique Ontario
Sujet(s) : Eau potable; Eaux utilisées à des fins récréatives & eaux de surface; Maladies transmissibles et infectieuses

Public Health Ontario developed a calculator to assist in preparing a diluted solution of sodium hypochlorite from a concentrated bleach solution. The tool was created in response to an identified field need. Preliminary trials have occurred with select stakeholders and positive feedback was received.

This calculator is for use by public health units, health care facilities, child care centres, swimming pool operators, and general public (for example: for disinfection of wells, home disinfection)

The tool will automatically calculate the amount of bleach solution that should be diluted with water to get the desired concentration. The dilution calculator is easy to use.

The online chlorine dilution calculator tool is located on Public Health Ontario’s website at www.oahpp.ca/resources/dilution-calculator.html
