The Ontario Public Health Convention (TOPHC) is your opportunity to connect with health professionals from Ontario and beyond to share knowledge and develop skills related to public health. For three days in March, TOPHC 2018 will explore how we can lead through change, respond with innovative opportunities and partnerships, and set the course for a strong and renewed public health sector within a transformed system.
It is a time of transformation for public health. New policy and legislative changes within the Patients First Act and the new Ontario Standards for Public Health Programs and Services, emerging and ongoing health issues, and continuing health inequities drive a demand for innovation, leadership and intersectoral action. Our public health organizations at all levels have an opportunity to shape the health system in new ways; and continue to provide high quality programs and services that strengthen communities and enhance the health of our populations.
New to TOPHC this year:
- New educational format: On day three, the TOPHC program will include full-day workshops on specific public health topics. This will allow you to discuss key topics and develop relevant skills, while working closely with your public health colleagues from different organizations. You will have the opportunity to sign up for one workshop when you register for TOPHC. Read more about the different workshops in the TOPHC online schedule.
- HOT TOPHC plenary: Based on your feedback, we are offering our HOT TOPHC as a plenary session on day two, for everyone to attend. This year’s HOT TOPHC is: Working together to achieve and integrated health system.
